Lake Vinuela Spain Axarquia region of Spain

Lake Vinuela is a 20 Minute drive from the N340 Autovia, Leaving at the Velez-Malaga junction, and heading inland along the A-335 following signs for Lake Vinuela. This direction will also take you past loads of little Villages that come straight out of a picture posta card. The first turning off of this road is Benamocarra, which is signposted to the right after the last round about into Velez-Malaga.

This road will take you back over the A335 to El Borge, Cutar and Almachar.

The second Turning off the A355 is on the right and you will see a Repsol Petrol Station on the right and this will take you to Trapiche (You will see a Boat at this junction)
then just passed this turning on the opposite side of the road (on the left) is the turning to Benamargosa, Triana, Comares and Cutar. This road eventually leads to Rio-Gordo so if you fancy a scenic drive through some amazing Spanish white washed Villages then take this turning and follow the road straight all the way, when you go through Benamargosa you may want to stop for refreshments at Cafe Bar Silvia Benamargosa that is owned by Mick and Andrea tell them that you found them on Jason's Blog and I am sure they will be pleased to see you.

As you take that turning on the left off of the A-355 on the corner in front of you will be El Cruze, this is an incredibly popular Bar restaurant and Tapas Bar serving some incredible food the Black pudding is probably the best I have ever tasted.

Dragging yourself out of El Cruz heading inland back on the A-355 keep going straight for 15 minutes and you will come to Lake Vinuela dont be disapointed if Lake Vinuela looks more like a mud bath than a Lake as the poor rain fall this year (2008) has left the Lake rather precariously low on water.
